Students can choose two paths for their Senior Project: 1. Problem Solution: This option allows students to find a problem in their school, community, state or nation that they would like to fix. They analyze the problem and consider several types of solutions before choosing the solution. Students to make strategic plans, manage budgets and implement their plan to gain real life experience on how to be a contributing citizen in their communities, while also creating a project that allows them to leave a legacy. This pathway prepares students for real life as citizens that understand their civic duty, as well as helping be college and career ready!
2. Career Based: This option allows students to explore possible career paths through an internship. Students can get real life career experience to help them determine if a career path is right for them. Another part of the career-based pathway is a job certification. Students can earn job certifications as part of their Senior Project.
Where can we get ideas?
The handbooks is full of ideas to help students get their creative ideas rolling. Students do not have to use the examples in the book, but do need to get their project approved.
Can my student start before their senior year?
Yes! Absolutely! We are excited to help any students that would like to get a head start. While the Senior Project is presented during the student's senior year, it can be started earlier. We do make small adjustments to the project each year that hopefully make the project better, but often they are very small changes.
